Sales mapping software

Your accounts on a map. Your day planned around them.

Sales mapping software turns a list of customers into a route, a territory and a plan. Here is what it actually does, how to pick one, and what every major tool costs, with every price checked on the vendor's own page.

No credit card. No demo call. Routing in about 30 minutes.

What sales mapping software actually does

A spreadsheet tells you that you have 340 accounts. A map tells you that 40 of them sit within twenty minutes of each other, eleven are overdue for a visit, and the two biggest are on opposite sides of the territory.

That difference is the whole product. Sales mapping software plots your customers, leads and territories geographically, then plans the most efficient way to work them. It does five jobs.

Put the book of business on a map

Every account as a pin, coloured by value, last visit, deal stage or any field you choose.

Plan and optimise the route

Pick the stops, get the fastest order, hand off to Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps.

Draw and assign territories

By postcode, county, drive time or freehand, so nobody doubles up and no area goes dark.

Capture the visit on the phone

Check in, add a note or a photo, set the follow-up, all without a laptop.

Sync it back to the CRM

The visit lands in the system of record automatically, so evenings stop being data entry.

Find what is not in the CRM yet

Prospecting on the same map surfaces businesses near today's route that you never called.

The routing is the part people shop for. The CRM sync is the part that decides whether the tool survives past month three, because a mapping tool that does not write back becomes a second system nobody updates.

How it differs from Google Maps and a spreadsheet

Google Maps routes about ten stops and knows nothing about your customers. It cannot tell you which accounts are overdue, who owns the territory, or what was promised on the last visit. Google My Maps adds pins but caps at ten layers, does not optimise a route and does not connect to a CRM.

The gap shows up in the stop limits. Published figures as of July 2026: Badger Maps states "Route optimization with up to 120 stops", Leadbeam's Compass module states it "sequences up to 50 stops a day", and Lead Mapper plans routes with up to 6,000 stops. Several vendors publish no limit at all, which is worth asking about before you buy.

If your accounts currently live in a spreadsheet, that is the normal starting point. Every tool in this category imports a CSV. The question is what happens after the import.

What sales mapping software costs in 2026

We read every vendor's pricing page directly rather than quoting figures from memory. Prices move, so each row carries the date it was checked.

Per user per month as published by each vendor. Badger Maps, SalesRabbit, Leadbeam and Route4Me checked 29 July 2026; SPOTIO, Map My Customers and RepMove checked 19 July 2026. Annual figures require an annual commitment. Full breakdown in our field sales software comparison and our SPOTIO pricing analysis.

Two things that table does not show, and both cost money.

Add-ons. Badger Maps advertises "Straightforward pricing with no hidden fees" and sells its territory tooling as four separate products on the same page: Align at $20 per territory with a five-territory minimum, Lead Routing at $16 per rep, Insights at $50 per user and Scoreboard at $12 per user. SalesRabbit prices DataGrid AI, Mover Leads, Digital Contracts and Weather at $13 to $31 per user per month each, on top of the plan. Route4Me marks ten features "Paid Add-On" in every tier.

Commitments. SPOTIO's billing documentation defines a "User Commitment" as "the MINIMUM number of licenses you will be charged for at each billing date", and confirms that if you run fewer seats "you would simply be charged for the number of licenses in your user commitment". SalesRabbit's billing FAQ states accounts "will remain active for the full contract length". Map My Customers bills "annually by default".

Where these figures come from

Every price and quote above was read on the vendor's own pricing page, help centre or billing documentation on the date stated, and is recorded verbatim in our research log alongside the source URL. We did not use secondhand figures from directories or older articles.

How to choose one

Six questions separate the tools faster than any feature matrix.

  • How many stops does it actually route? The published range across this category runs from 50 a day to several thousand. If your reps run dense urban routes, this is the first filter.
  • Does the CRM sync go both ways? One-way means someone re-keys everything. Ask specifically whether visits, notes and new accounts created in the field flow back.
  • Are territories included or an add-on? This is the single biggest hidden cost in the category.
  • What are the record and field caps? Badger's Business tier publishes "Up to 2,000 records/accounts per license", custom fields "Up to 30" and "One object, one activity", with records unlimited for CRM-integrated users. Caps like these are easy to miss and hard to leave.
  • Can you try it with your own accounts? Half this category will not let you. That answer tells you who the product is designed to satisfy.
  • What do the reps say, not the buyers? Open the Android and iOS listings and read the recent one-star reviews. Buyer-facing sites and app stores often disagree sharply.

Route planning, in practice

Good sales route planning is not just shortest-distance. It weighs drive time against the value of the stop, respects fixed appointments, and lets a rep re-plan at eleven in the morning when a meeting moves.

Worth knowing: optimisation targets differ. Badger Maps explained theirs in a public reply to a reviewer, stating their optimised route "is the one that takes the least amount of minutes. However, this route doesn't necessarily have to be the one with the least amount of miles." If you reimburse mileage, ask which target the tool optimises for.

In Lead Mapper the flow is: filter the accounts you want, lasso them on the map, set a start and end, optimise, then send the route to your phone. Up to 6,000 stops, saved as a template if it repeats weekly.

Territories on the same map

Territory design belongs in the same tool as the routing, otherwise the two drift apart. Most tools let you draw by postcode, county or freehand. Lead Mapper adds isochrone territories, which are drawn by drive time rather than by administrative boundary, so a territory reflects what a rep can actually reach in 45 minutes rather than what a county line says.

CRM mapping without a migration

You should not have to move CRM to get a map. Lead Mapper syncs two ways with Pipedrive, HubSpot, Zoho, Close, Attio, Less Annoying CRM, Zendesk Sell and GoHighLevel. If Salesforce is your system of record, we do not have a connector and Badger Maps, SPOTIO, SalesRabbit, Map My Customers and Leadbeam all publish one.

Who this is for

Sales mapping software pays for itself fastest when a rep's day is defined by driving between customers: HVAC and roofing sales, food and beverage distribution, medical and dental equipment, building materials, construction supply, plumbing and tree care.

It is a poor fit if your team sells entirely by phone and video, or if the job is delivery routing rather than selling. For pure delivery work a logistics tool is the better shelf; Route4Me's own Play Store description states the app "is for professional drivers & couriers... not recreational roadtrippers".

What Lead Mapper does

$27 per user per month, or $47 with the AI layer that plans the route, logs the visit by voice and keeps the CRM current. No seat minimum, no annual commitment, no add-ons.

  • Routes up to 6,000 stops, saved as reusable templates
  • Isochrone territories by drive time, heatmaps and account scoring in the base plan
  • Two-way sync with eight CRMs, or run standalone if you do not have one yet
  • Prospecting on the same map, so reps fill gaps in the day with net-new businesses
  • Setup in about 30 minutes, trial without a credit card or a call

Where we are not the answer: Salesforce shops, teams that need a SOC 2 report today, and door-to-door canvassing crews who need knock-tracking and e-contracts. We say so on the comparison page too.

FAQ

What is sales mapping software?

Software that plots your customers, leads and territories on a map and plans the most efficient route between the ones a rep needs to visit. Unlike a consumer route planner it is tied to your sales data, so the map knows which accounts are overdue and who owns which area, and it syncs the visit back to your CRM.

How is it different from Google Maps?

Google Maps routes about ten stops and knows nothing about your accounts. Sales mapping software routes hundreds or thousands, colours pins by whatever field matters, filters by territory, and writes the visit back to the CRM.

How much does it cost?

Published entry prices in July 2026 ran from $16.67 per user per month (RepMove Flex, annual) and $27 (Lead Mapper) to $58 (Badger Maps Business, annual), $59 (SalesRabbit Team, monthly), $89 (Leadbeam Starter, monthly) and $99 with a three-user minimum (Map My Customers). SPOTIO and Route4Me publish no prices.

Is there free sales mapping software?

SalesRabbit offers a free Lite tier for one user, though the vendor confirmed in a May 2025 review reply that it does not include data export. Google My Maps is free but does not optimise routes or connect to a CRM. For a working team tool, expect to pay per seat.

Does it work offline?

The better mobile apps queue activity locally and sync when signal returns. Map My Customers states reps can "log activities, capture voice notes, take photos, etc. without service". Coverage varies by vendor, so test it in a basement or a rural patch during the trial.

How long does it take to set up?

It ranges from half an hour to a quarter. Lead Mapper is about 30 minutes. Map My Customers states most teams are "live in 2-4 weeks". For SPOTIO, G2's aggregated user data shows a time to implement of one month, while their own page says "less than four weeks".
